IS IT SUNRISE YET?

The breakfast clubbers are here!

We are the happily single (sometimes not?), career-crazed (if we do have a career to talk about!), goal-oriented (our common goal: to be married to a clicheishly rich handsome kind man who is --- slightly --- in touch with his feminine side!), forever-dreaming-of-traveling-abroad-together (as in even at least just three of us on the same trip), forever-dreaming-of-traveling-anywhere-with-a-boyfriend-slash-husband (some may not admit to that, but come on...who are we kidding girls?), domesticatedly outgoing (we can go to either extremes!), secretly-afraid-to-grow-old-alone, and low maintenance (the only time we wear make up and really dress up is during weddings of our --- mostly male --- friends, and we even share make up!) females, who graduated from Ateneo Law School at different years during the 90s.

We're all in our 30s and we're proud of it! We don't find any reason to deny our age, because we don't look our age anyway. It's how we feel about ourselves that's important, right?

So anyway, why a breakfast club?

This started out one Sunday morning when two of us were to meet a friend and client --- that is, Minnie's friend who also happens to be my client. We invited Genee to join us, as Genee lives a few houses away from Minnie anyway. We had breakfast at Dulcinea along Tomas Morato in Quezon City, and found ourselves in the midst of bustling senior citizens --- seemingly energetic on a Sunday mid morning!

So to break the "oldies only for breakfast" tradition in the city, Minnie and I decided to formalize a monthly breakfast club with the rest of the females in our group. Well, the males are also invited but they don't seem to be interested to join us for breakfast. (Perhaps they're still tired from the Saturday late nights they have with their girlfriends/wives/partners/etc?) And we plan to meet at different breakfast places around the metro, whenever our means and resources will allow us.

What happens during our breakfast is never planned, so anything goes. But maybe we can cook up something next time, and make this monthly affair more interesting. But hey! With at least a couple of 30-something females, anything --- and I do mean ANYTHING --- is a topic of nonstop conversation! So it will always be an exciting breakfast!

So rise and shine and be with us after the sunrise!
